This client personalized an awesome feature of their kitchen to complement a hobby they are passionate about. If you look at the edge of the granite counter tops you’ll notice they are finished in a style known as “chiseled” or “split face” giving it a rough cut look. This client loves to rock climb and loved the idea to finish their kitchen countertops in a manner to to remind them of their love of rock climbing.
We opened up a doorway between the kitchen and living room to create a large opening that we trimmed with rough cut lumber and finished with iron brackets. The client pitched in and built a new kitchen table and wooden tops for storage cabinets in the dining room. Granite countertops and subway style backsplash tile pair well with the farmhouse sink and lighting in the kitchen to create a welcoming space that will serve this young family for years to come.
